Fresh fish on the Lisbon Market Tour is possible due to the huge miles of shore of the Portuguese geography.

Its a moment for a unique gastronomic experience seeing and learning about the habits, the food, the ingredients.

The rich Portuguese coastline is abundant in fish and a trip to Portugal is a unique moment to taste sardines, ray, monkfish, octopus, sea bass, grey mullet and much more.

Some of the amazing products that we can easily find during the Market Tour is cuttlefish, squid and octopus (several dimensions).

The portuguese gastronomy is also known by the famous salted codfish (one of the few countries that consumes salted codfish).

Portugal has hundreds of codfish recipes. The most famous are : Codfish Brás Style, Codfish with Cream, Codfish with Onions, Codfish in the Oven and much more.

You will find a market divide in three areas, the corridor of fresh vegetables, fresh fish and meat and an area of several restaurants and coffee shops.

Depending of the season, you can easily find apples, strawberries, figs, pears, bananas, oranges, melons, plums and many other fruits.

By default we have a meeting point, which is at Cooking Lisbon.  The transportation between the local market and the meeting point is done by bus, where you can delight with several keypoints of the portuguese capital.

Cooking Lisbon organizes the Market Tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. The Market Tour includes a visit to a local market and cooking class. We cook with a Cataplana from Silampos, Algarve Model .
